Are athletes overpaid?

Excluding the big name celebrities, are athletes in general overpaid?

Simple answer- Yes. People in the army and the air force etc. who risk their lives in everything they do, get 15k a year, whereas most athletes get over 150k per time they play their sport. Or, and I know I'm a bit biased on this, people who work in hospitals and save lives every day get 30k or so a year on average, it's just wrong in my opinion.

However, I never really looked into Athletes pay especially compared to others, so I cannot really say

I don't make effort to, it's just been on the news recently.

They are overpaid, but what would we do without them. Anyway, they get paid by different people and are role models for their countries and beyond

3 to 4 weeks ago I guess, the main thing was regarding David Beckhams move and salary, although it delved into others salary?

As for what we would do, I feel we would do better. IMO athletes are good role models for fitness although they also promote a bad reputation for those who don't partake in sports.

Are you sure about that? Think about the Olympics.

I can vouch for that point, I never watch sports although I did watch some, not much, of the Olympics, but it hasn't encouraged me to get more active.

Perhaps not for you, but at the same time it still inspires many
